Tammy Wynn
Tammy Wynn makes it happen! She has the administrative gift. It is not a gift that is often talked about- it rarely gets its due credit, but the truth is without someone steering the ship nothing would ever get done.
Working as the Chief Operating Officer for New H.O.P.E CDC, Tammy uses her organizational and managerial skills to the benefit of the wider community.
“My life seems to always intersect with very talented and passionate people - the visionaries. When you meet them it’s obvious that they’ve been called to do something great, but many of them don’t know how to execute the details to make it happen. That’s where I come in. I thrive in the challenge of collaborating with visionaries, planning, coordinating, and delegating tasks, and putting the pieces of the puzzle together to make the vision come to reality.”
People like Tammy tend to serve often in the background, away from the spotlight and the applause, but if you pull back the curtain, you’ve probably been touched by a program that Tammy helped put into motion. She was the Designer and Project Manager for a 19,000 sq ft building in Castle Hayne Township of New Hanover County. For the past 20 years, Tammy has served as one of the Executive Leaders at New Beginning Christian Church, which birth the New H.O.P.E. Community Development Corporation – an organization built to promote Community Outreach.
She now serves as the COO, the force steering multiple programs that help address the issues of our community: Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP), Peer Support, Street Outreach, Rental Assistance, and more. In addition, every August for the past 10 years, she has organized the Back-2-School Bash, a school supply drive that outfits 2,500 students and families.
You see, Tammy has not only dedicated herself to making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently, but the projects she works on all have the same goal of helping people; to build a more just and compassionate community.
“I am proud to be a part of New H.O.P.E CDC. These are tough times we are living in, and there are a lot of people who need help. I am blessed to team up with amazing men and women with a vision. I know that I am gifted at helping them figure out how to make things happen. I was born to serve. Serving is the least I can do to help make people know that their current situation does not define them; there is HOPE."
On the other side of life, Tammy is the mother of two beautiful adult women and the grandmother aka “Lovey” of a precious baby girl. She extends her heart to others including hosting foreign exchange students from Vietnam, Japan and Ecuador. She is the Owner of Designed-2-Wynn Enterprises, LLC. As a model, mentor and facilitator of Stiletto Strength, she empowers women to build their confidence as they pursue purpose.
