Depression is Not Just Feeling Sad
New Helping Ordinary People Excel Community Development Corporation (H.O.P.E. CDC), a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2021, stems from Pastor Robert Campbell, CEO, in his unwavering dedication to developing programs and services to make our community a better place to live.
The vision is comprehensive and impactful. Comprised of four key components, Housing, Education, Recovery and Economic Empowerment, H.O.P.E. CDC addresses critical aspects of community development. Existing and upcoming projects and programs show a commitment to holistic improvement, including affordable housing for seniors and families, rental assistance, peer support, job and skills training, small-business development and so much more.
About Us
Housing
The Cape Fear Region faces a housing crisis with steep home prices and rents, raising concerns about affordability and community stability. New H.O.P.E. CDC tackles this issue through workforce housing initiatives, emphasizing the importance of accessible housing for societal well-being and economic mobility. Collaborative efforts are crucial to ensure affordable housing remains available to all residents.
Recovery
The addiction crisis hits close to home, affecting individuals and families in the Cape Fear region. New H.O.P.E. CDC's recovery pillar offers peer support, recognizing that compassion and understanding are essential in overcoming addiction. By extending a helping hand and fostering a culture of support, the organization aims to empower individuals in recovery to rebuild their lives with hope and purpose.
Economic Empowerment
Economic inequities are felt deeply in our communities, but New H.O.P.E. CDC strives to level the playing field by supporting minority- and women-owned businesses. Through New H.O.P.E. Services, we provide essential resources and mentorship, recognizing the value of diversity and inclusion in fostering a thriving local marketplace. By ensuring equal access to opportunities, we not only empower individuals but enrich our entire community, creating a brighter and more equitable future for all.
